Why O Why?
So when you go to open a box of cereal (or other product) with a bag inside, WHY is the glue used to hold the bag closed made to be stronger than the bag itself? It just doesn't make sense, the glue should be weaker than the bag so you can open it without tearing the bag.
I think I'll just start using a knife or scissors. [The dogs enjoyed the spilled cereal, btw.]

I think the 'glue' is actually just partially-melted plastic bag from a heat sealing process.
Yes, it is not user-friendly, but,its a cheap way of providing an air tight seal. Somewhere there is a packaging engineer who is proud of himself for finding a way to increase shelf life and shave $0.0001 off each box. IMO lets mail the spilled cereal to him I remember the good ol' wax paper liner from way back. Easy to use! |
