Old's Ciera - anyway to turn off interior lights

I am doing some interior work on my 1993 Olds Ciera and noted that I cannot turn off the interior lights when I have a door open. On most cars you can adjust the dash light setting to turn off all interior lights. The dial doesn't allow this on my Ciera. I also have an owners manual but it doesn't say anything about this.

Am I overlooking something that enables me to turn off the lights so as not to drain the battery when sitting in this car with the doors open?

Remove the 'dome light' fuse.

just pull the dom fuse it us a 15 AMP FUSE but if that one blows you can use a 10 fuse for temp fuse

Most cars are just the opposite- the dimmer switch turns "on" the dome lights. Only on GM trucks do I know that there is a dome light defeat switch. There are a few that do it right on the dome light....but these are all the exceptions...not found on a Cierra. Newer cars will turn off the dome light circuit after about 20 minutes- to avoid battery drain...
