Front bushing on A-arm???
We have a 2001 Tribute 4X4 3.0L. Boy, had a lot of problems and spent alot of money even with full bumper to bumper warrenty that cost a ton to begin with. Anyways, new noise coming from the front end. It is the right side A-arm bushing(I think that is what it is called). Squeaking very badly. I sprayed some white lithium grease for now and has stopped, but I need to fix the right way. Anyone have this done before, or done yourself. Just wondering if I can do this myself without buying 500.00 bucks worth of specialty tools or if it is a cheap fix at the shop.lol Any help appreciated.

Re: Front bushing on A-arm???
I assume you mean the lower control arm which has a bushing on the inner end and a ball joint on the outer end. If can be done yourself if you are confident about supporting the vehicle and have large enough wrenches and stuff.
I would start by removing the bolt, inspecting and lubricating it, and then replacing it. If it is the ball joint end, you might need to replace it. If it was on mine, I would do it myself. PS...I know what you mean by a lot of problems, but I have heard the new ones are much better for mechanical reliability. |

Re: Front bushing on A-arm???
Auto Zone has a free tool loaner program as long as you return them in a reasonable time. A parts store with a press can change the bushing for you. I have my own press and a tool for bushings. If you do your own work just borrow the tools.
