h22a questions

I've read around here that the handling goes to hell after you do an h22a engine swap. I have a 95 accord EX coupe. Could someone give me some details about this?

Also, what other mods could i do if i DO get the h22a in my car? Mainly turbo, is what i'm wondering about. I'm still a beginner on all this stuff, but i'm hoping to learn, and i'm not going to do anything huge to my car until i learn more.

Thanks for any posts/replies!

the handling will be just fine in your accord. the cars that lose their ability to handle well are the lighter civics and integras. the accords already come with a 2.2 block in them, so there is no difference when swapping from the f22 to the h22. turbo is perfectly fine for that motor, and will make it kick ass if done correctly. just keep doing research like you said, and all should work out fine.

Actually you are partially correct, the H22 weighs more than the F22 and it does have an effect on the understeer of the Accord. Granted you will definately notice this moreso with the lighter Hondas, but don't count out the Accord. But for the most part yes it is generally the same. The Accord did come stock with an H22 in Japan.

But as far as swapping an H22 into the Accord, trust me, you will love it.. I do. You just have to hold the steering wheel a little bit tighter other wise the torque will rip it out of your hand.. LOL I almost put mine in a ditch yesterday because I got on it, and I had a fight with the steering wheel, and I won ofcourse, but thank god I have quick reflexes otherwise my baby would be wearing bandaids.. Do the swap, you won't regret it..

I've heard that a transmission upgrade is an important consideration when doing something like the Accord F22/H22 swap. That seems logical (at least to me) that you would want to install some more heavy duty components, since you are jumping up 60 hp over what the car was originally intended. Any truth to this?

Yea thats true, but usually the H22 comes with the tranny already built for its power, however I upgraded to Clutchmaster Stage 1 Clutch and Flywheel.. I definately noticed much more power... I love it!!

H22-F22 compatibility

I was just wondering if a H22-A LSDH transmission would bolt to a F22-A engine block?
