Exclamation 2005 Trailblazer Speedometer Inaccurate/Inoperative! Help Please!

Its a 2005 Trailblazer with the 4.2L V6, Automatic. Situation is, the speedometer will work fine and then all of a sudden it will drop down to zero, and other times it will just get stuck around 35 mph or so. Any suggestions? Bad IPC? Bad ground somewhere? Thanks for any help!

You could check the grounds one on the l/s of the engine block, one c102 under the center of the dash, but more than likely the stepper motor in the speedo is bad.

So more than likely I'll either have to send the IPC off to get repaired or replace the IPC myself?

The stepper motors can be found on E-bay or from a dealer, removing and ipc and doing the job is somwhat tricky, you should look at what is required or send it out for a repair.

I've sent mine out for repair through eBay...$70 plus shipping. They replace all the motors with an updated design. Warranty too. Getting the cluster out isn't so difficult, but alot of the trim panels around it do get removed to get to it.
