Manual tranny in an LS?
Hey, Howzitgoin? I have a minor question with major impact. I'm planning on buying a '95 Legacy within the next year or so and I was thinking about how much I would "need" a manual transmission. I know I might sound a little slow when asking this, but I'm just sizing up my options.
Is it possible to swap out the automatic tranny from an LS model Legacy for a manual? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure there wasn't an option to get a manual straight from the factory...I know that an operation like that would need some mounts and whatnot replaced, but I'm not sure if it can be done in the LS. Again, I'm just checking out what's available out there...and I'm really slow where technical stuff is concerned, so I'm killing 2 birds with one stone here. I hope somebody here can fill me in on this situation, it would really help me out. Peace. |

I bought an automatic turbo legacy and had it converted to a manual, you should be able to find parts to fit the car to convert it, but its quite a bit of money and if you plan on raising the power a bit the 5spd transmissions are weak and the automatic can handle way more power. Email legacycentral@yahoo.com and they can tell you what you need to know.
