Post My friends Dodge Ram Truck Problem...

Well My friend just bought a 2002 Dodge ram 1500. He bought it brand new. When he put the first 1000k on it he was getting around 7 miles to the liter. Now at about 3000ks on the truck he is getting like 3 to 4 miles to the liter. It should be a hell of a lot better then that. It should actually get better as it breaks in.

Anyone else have this problem? Or know why its mileage is getting SO bad..

Thanks
DD

Wow, that sounds horrible!

Maybe he should have a non-Dodge mechanic take a peek. Sounds like he might have got a lemon...

Cool

I have had good luck with my 2002 RAM. I get between 13 and 21 mpg with the 4.7L v8. Make sure your friend is using 87 octane fuel.

4 kiles to the LITER?

uh you didnt say what engine he had, however 16 miles per gallon for a 5.9 would not be unreasonable...just a thought
