Question 1997 Mustang wont start

Recently bought a non-running 1997 Mustang 3.8 5 spd. Previous owner provided no info on problem. Said it just quit running..Removed timing cover, chains fine. Replaced cam position sensor. (Using Ford alignment tool) Have good spark, Have plenty of fuel+pressure. Turns over sluggishly, wont start. Even using starting fluid. Kinda hoping a Ford guy may be able to help out, b4 I tow it to the dealership.. Am I missing something? fuseable link? Shut down sensor? fuse? Cam sensor incorrectly set? HELP!
