Loose spark plug bad performance?
Hey everyone,
it has been a while since i have posted in here but i would like to update you with a few things my 95 metro has about 190,000 miles on it, with original engine parts i noticed that the 2nd spark plug wire was kinda loose, so i pushed it back in i am not sure if it was the wire or the plug, but i pushed it down and it seated itself more firmly now i notice that i am getting more horsepower and i have more acceleration. could the loose spark plug wire have caused this? thanks again enjoy your cars |

Yes, your engine was running on 2 cylinders instead of 3

Re: Loose spark plug bad performance?
that is bizarre, i don't know how long the spark plug wire had been disconnected but the car hasn't run like that in years

That's funny. I used to have a 1993 Mercury Capri XR2 and it ran like crap. I replaced the plugs, but did not notice the bad wire and drove it like that for a few months until I found it.
