Audio Sub and Speakers
OK so I've been looking around trying to find speakers and subs and the best sounds quality. I'm looking at Jl Audio for everything. I have a Pioneer head unit. AVH4000dvd. I was looking at the VR 650's for the front speakers with the crossovers. ONly problem is i was reading which is better component over coxial ? NOw for the rear i was looking at the VR 690's but their only 2 way not three way.. would that be a problem? My cousin has a 5.0 with a tube in the back and a JL w3 10inch.. he has it all wired into his 5/500 amp which sounds clear as can be an hits very nice..
Does anyone know about how a tube sounds in our cars instead of 2 10's ? Also Jl only makes 1" tweeters how much fabricating am i looking at since stock are 2.5" ? Any opions would be awesome I want the best sound and punch. Thanks |

Re: Audio Sub and Speakers
hey bro, i ended up buying an alpine (ipod) head unit, all memphis audio components, and 12" Arc Audio Flatline Sub and Arc Audio 2000 wt. sub. I had a hard time finding subs that would fit in the hatch. Unfortunatly there is not alot of room they ended up taking out the plastic inserts for the spare tire and the spare tire in general. alot of sacrifices for a good sound system in the beautifull cars that we own.

Re: Audio Sub and Speakers
memphos r good. i had a kenwood system once. 1000watt amp, capacitor and 2 tens, but i traded it for a nitrous system which is in my closet.....but the point is it sounds good and the acoustics in our cars r great good luck

Re: Audio Sub and Speakers
me personaly would get the Jl w3 and have a 500watt mono block Jl amp, but buy a CrossOver too, go to Jl audios website to look a the spects to figure out how big the box needs to be, message me and ill tell you how to wire it. but pending on what you have in terms of a car or a truck will depend on if you need a ported box or not, if your putting it in a truck DO NOT PORT THE BOX, but in a car port it

Re: Audio Sub and Speakers
Hi, here's what I did
Eclipes AND726E head unit 4- 6.5 Morels 2- Kenwood Excelon xr4s digital amps 1- Kenwood xr1s digital amp 1- JL Audio 13.5" low profile sub I pulled the spare tire and all the other "nesassary" stuff out. Custom built a sealed box for the sub that actually sits 1" lower than the original deck and gave me the correct airspace that sits on the drivers side of the hatch back, and put the 3 subs on the passengers side. The low profile sub kept the look I wanted in the rear and using digital amps ment that I didn't have to worry about amp draw, thermaling, and size. If you've never herd Morels you should! Kinda spendy for the everyday system at 1300.00 a pair but OMG they are increadible! |
