loses power under loads

I have a 2001 ls that runs rich and shows no codes except p0300 . It will miss under loads and get worse as temp rises. I can smell exhaust and burns eyes when running inside shop. Any ideas?
Thanks

Re: loses power under loads

Welcome to the forum. Is your LS a V6 or V8? Have you checked the condition of the spark plugs? Have you confirmed that the MAF sensor is properly connected? Do you have the equipment to check compression and/or cylinder leakdown?

Re: loses power under loads

Sorry for the slow response , I have been away from my computer.
It has a 3.9 I have not checked much yet , but I can see the MAF has been opened ( paint on screw heads don't line up.) I got this car from auction and know nothing about it's history.
The car runs great at low rpm 2200 or less , but misses at anything over that and revs only to 4000 while driving. In park it only revs to 3000 rpm and starts cutting out live a rev limiter.
Thanks for your help.
