Here's some pics of my dash fiberglassed, I didn't paint it base clear because I figured everyone is doing it so I'd be different and make it nice and clean looking

heres the other side, I know I have red seats but not for long I'm redoing them, they're Tenzo R's but I'm covering them to match the rest of the interior

No I covered the dash with fiberglass resin, then sanded it smooth and painted it. I also shaved the side vents on the top. Theres a lot more to it than that but that's the simple version.

Its not shiny, I painted it with flat paint so it would match the rest of the vinyl in my car, I'll try and take some more pics when I get a chance

i've been asking around if that was possible and got no response. do you think you could post the process in detail, and pics if possible. that would really help me out.

Well I'm doing a friends MK4 jetta dash right now so I'll try and take pics if I remember but its mostly done already so it won't be like a step by step. Here I'll tell you real quick
Take the dash out of the car and take all the guages and vents and stuff out Clean it real good with wax and grease remover sand it really good with 180 grit sand paper Take a milk jug and cut the bottom off it so you can use it to pour the fiberglass resin all over the dash Keep putting coats of resin until its hard enough that it won't flex when you push on the dash Sand the resin smooth and any imperfections fill in with bondo or light weight filler Prime with high build primer and sand with 400 grit and paint Got it??? Its not that hard just really time consuming O and you have to either sand or get a dremel and route out all the holes where the vents and gauges go so they will fit right Have fun its not easy though and it takes a lot of time, good luck |

One more thing you probably need at least 4 -5 coats if not more to make it hard enough so it won't crack

I'm not really sure I worked on it on and off the whole thing took 3 weeks but that's because I'm doing a million other things at the same time. I'm guessing probably 15 hours mabey more??? Thanks I'm glad most of you like it, I was kinda worried that no one would like it because most people like the whole shiny fiberglass look. I too like that but just trying to be a little different thats all
