Yamaha YZF-R1

This is my new project for an dutch friendly contest. (no prices just honor)

It's the wellknown Tamiya R1.

The kit contains this:

Today I started with the engine wich will be stock and OOB.

I saw on the pics must re-do the yamaha logo.

I have no big modifications in my mind. I will make a racing monoseat and an underseat so I can lose the licenseplate etc.

The colour will be Mica Blue because I want to make the blue version with the silver parts and decals.

Kris.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R1

Few days ago I started on the body parts. Cleaned them up and primed them.

As I said I want to make a smooth monoseat and an underseat as well.

I uses some milliput to create one. The underseat is also puttied and the licenseplate-holder is removed.

I like how the rearlights came under the monoseat.

Meanwhile I finished the bike-stand. I painted it TS-17 and clearcoated it.

Also added the carburators and the engine is almost finished now.

and the primed body parts

I also primed the monoseat and underseat. A few faults needs some putty but no big problem for me.

Hope to paint the body parts this week...

Kris.

rThe Tail Looks Great!, Good Job, The Tail Like That Looks Like The Ducati Desmosedici Tail, But In The Ducati Are Exhaust, Not Lights.
Are You Going To Paint One Color The Tail? Or would Be Cool The Tail Body In Color And The Stop Light Housing In Carbon Fibre Texture.
Now Is Monoseat, Are You Going To Add Number Plates Paint Or More Like Original?
cant wait to see it painted

The underseat will be painted in same colour as the other body parts.
I don't add a numberplate on this bike.

The rearlight will be clear white or maybe clear red.

Re: Yamaha YZF-R1

I've made a new update last days.

I finished the chain and put em together with the rearlink.

I also finished the suspension and placed it.

I also painted two layers of Mica Blue on the body parts. This needs to dry and after aplying the decals I'll clearcoat it all.

and a shot of the nice ass

Re: Yamaha YZF-R1

All body parts got the decals on it and I clearcoated them last week.
2 layers of TS-13 were enough.

I really love the colour

This needs to be polished maybe this week.

I also painted the wheels and sanded the tyres a bit.

Okay, I finished the engine and putted into the framework. Also the rearlink is placed in the frame.

I almost finished the frontfork. I need to add the instrumentpanel and the handles.

Finished the front bodypart.

and a dryfitt of all.

I saw a little damage on the frontfork. I will fix this now.
