Electrical totally DEAD and car won't start.
I have an 88' CRX. Drove to get gas this morning and went to start the car to leave and nothing! When I turned the key to the ON position, the dash indicators lit up and when I turned the key to START, everything when dead. I tried to jump the car and even replaced the battery with a new one and it did the same thing. After that first try, I take the key out and try again and the dash indicators don't even light up. It's like I don't even have a battery in the car!!?? I was reading alot about the main relay and the ingnition switch as the possible problem. I don't think it is the starter because the dash indicators would still light. It's as if a relay or something is stopping ANY voltage from getting to the car. Can anyone tell me if this is a possible Mainrelay ir ignition switch problem? Can it be anything else??
Thanks, ---Tony--- |

check the underhood fuse panel. the only thing that gets direct power from the battery is your starter motor, everything else goes through that fuse panel. of course, even the starter signal wire goes through it, so the starter wont work either. you probably blew one of the big main fuses, they bolt down with screws inside the underhood fuse panel
