Then again it depends on the course.

You have suspension mods? I have seen the WRX race here, agianst the GTRs, and the GTR kill them. Like I said, my LX will beat my GTRs.

My LX, is lighter as well.

Not knockin your car or anything, cause to me it sounds like you got a hell of a setup there, but the difference between the drag strip and the road course is that you are only going to have that 475hp for a limited amount of time on the road course. Even if you practice and get good at using the nitrous on a road course (which is very tricky), it'll run out pretty darn quick. Usually a 10# bottle at 100hp shot will last like 100 seconds worth of spraying (good spraying anyways). If the road course is lengthy, those 100 seconds won't seem like very much...

475, is with 13lbs of boost.

With the N2O I would be looking at 575

But, you are right about the use of the N2O. Long straight would really be the only use for it.

hot_red_z28,

No prob.

Like I said, this car is set up to run. To beat it, you are going to have to bring something that is not the run of mill.

I am sure F23A4Racer750IL WRX is a very nice car, but it wont come close to my LX, unless he has some major suspension and engine mods.

It comes down to $$$ when your talking cars.

With me, it has been research, and shopping for the best prices.

Research is KING.

What do you think about Zex's nitrous kit?

Re: Mustang vs. Camaro

I can't really vouch for the Zex kits, since I've never used them, and none of my friends have used them. I have seen quite a few imports with Zex stickers though, so assuming they are not just bullshitting, then apparently it's pretty popular.

I know a couple people running NX (including myself), one running a Nitrous Works kit, and a couple with NOS kits.

The reason I chose NX, (besides the fact that they know their shit and sell good stuff at a good price) is that they rate their kits for RWHP. When they claim a 100hp shot, it's a 100rwhp shot. Some of the kits are rated at flywheel horsepower, and so you can never really know how much you are getting to the wheels by using them...

Zex is a quality kit and very good for the beginner with it's NMU. Sometimes it doesn't put out as much RWHP as expected cause of the NMU but better safe than sorry. It's part of the Moroso group or one of the big one's. So it is really a big name company creating a line of nitrous kits under different name. Just like NOS owned by Holley and Nitrousworks is Barry Grant so you know they are a good company.

Im thinking of installing the 125hp zex kit. I am a little relunctant because of the timming retard. With this set up I would have to back the timing down to about 10. I think thats going to make the car run like crap when I'm not using the gas.

Re: Mustang vs. Camaro

Wow, 10*, are you sure?

I have my timing advanced via powerprogramming, to like 3* over stock, for use with 93 octane pump gas. I run a 100 shot right now and only pull out 4*, rendering me approx. 1* under stock. I've always heard a recommendation of 2* per 50hp.

I'm not sure what kind of car you drive, so perhaps it's different for your car, but I wouldn't think 10* is really necessary...

This is a 94 mustang GT. Everyone I talk to says pretty much the same thing. Retard two degrees for every 50hp of gas. Im running about 14 to 15 degrees now so with 125 shot thats about 4 to 4.5 degrees right?

Re: Mustang vs. Camaro

10* is what the car is set up for stock. That's where I would set the timing back to if you were running nitrous on regular pump gas.

Also, as far as nitrous kits. Compucar hasen't been mentioned, but that's good cause they are not that great at all.
