Polyfill Question
I have two 10' Subs. Here is the specs...
Blue CD Wave Electro-Plated Cone Wide Butyl Rubber Surround w/New Pattern Red steel Basket Bumped Vented Extended Pole Piece 1.5'' High Tempreture Kapton Voice Coil 4 Ohms Impedance 70 oz. Magnet Structure 600 Watts Peak Power Fs:35.9, Qms:5.72, Qes:0.83 Qts:0.73,Vas (Cu ft)1.932 SPL: 86.7dB Overall Diameter: 10.16'' Mounting Depth: 4.45'' Sold as: Unit My enclosure for each of them is 1.42 Cubic ft. So my enclosure is about half of a cubic foot too small. I read something about putting polyfill in it to make it seem like its bigger then it actually is. What Im wondering is, how much polyfill should I put in there??? If I put too much polyfill in it will it make the enclosure seem too big? Is there some kind of general rule of thumb for how much polyfill increases volume? Im trying to get as close to the manufacturers specs as possible.

Re: Polyfill Question
Making the box smaller will decrease the low bass and incease the power handling. Polyfill will make the speaker think it's in a bigger box. Sometimes you just have to play with it to see what sounds best.
