legnum vr4 poss gearbox problem need help pls!!!
hi
can anyone pls shed a little light on to my problem (car one that is!!!)  i have a 1997 vr4 estate - tiptronic when put in gear the engine revs quite alot first and then engages harshly and sets the car off at a million miles an hour this is a bit scarey when pulling out of a junction i have been told it is the torque convertor IS THIS TRUE??? and if so where is the cheapest place to purchase one thanx in anticipation... |

Check the level and condition of the gearbox oil. Incorrect grade/level causes all sorts of problems.
