Still having problems with Tracker dying

I have a 96 Geo Tracker 4x4 and it still dies at stops occasionally. I replaced the pricey Idle air controller but didnt help. I read on another forum that they had to replace the fuel pressure regulator. Anyone else done that?
Thanks

Re: Still having problems with Tracker dying

Before I would replace anything else, I would remove the throttle body, and clean it. Remove all the varnish from the throttle plate especially in the rear. Mine was doing the same thing, and after cleaning it, it now idles normally. Buy a new gasket for a couple of bucks at napa, as you will need to replace it, along with some carb cleaner. I would also remove the egr transfer tube, the one that bolts to the intake on the passenger side and clean the tube, and the ports to prevent code p0400. Took me about an hour and a half to do this. Hope it helps your problem too
