How many Ex-Police Impala Owners are out there? (9C1/9C3)

Had a police package 00' impala in Ontario.
Best and worst car I ever had. The suspension and handling was no doubt the best I've ever seen. It took my abuse well but hurt my wallet when I had to replace any small parts. Cost is 30% more for suspension parts...
Transmission was possibly a tad better than most cars I've had because only towards the end did I burn out the clutches from all the drag racing.
The electrical problems in this car are absolutely rediculous. The cop garages just cut all the wires when they decomissioned the car, which probably caused some of the problems. Example: radio would intermittently turn off and refuse to turn back on.
I reconnected the surveillance mode button which keeps the car running but turns off all exterior lights !
The alternator was powerful enough to run high power amps/speakers and it never burnt out.
The cop rims were amazing since the city of Ottawa doesn't seem to fix its f'ing roads. Sometimes I go over pot holes the size of a tire...

People used to just move out of my way when I drove that thing on the highway. Nobody ever cut me off. I've driven so close to people that they ended up pulling over. Yeah I abused my "power". That's why I would never be allowed to join the force...hahaha

I sold the car for $500 with 355000 KM when it stopped turning over out of the blue (key ignition problems?). At that time, the transmission was shuddering during shifts and it couldn't maintain highway speeds. Absolutely no rust on that vehicle though...

Our '03 isn't a cop Imp., but with the center caps I've had some boneheads on the highway back off whilst I was going the speed limit, then they went on their speeding way. I just hope someday they see a crown vic in their mirror driving like that.

Southwest Michigan also! I have a 94 9c1 Caprice, drivetrain of an Impala SS, body of a Caprice. Used to be a Michigan State Police car, now it's mine. 228,000 miles on it, still running strong. Starting to rust though.

it sucks they chop the push rods so the lifters don't go as high.

Those are some mean vehicles.

or are you a lucky soul and saved its guts from being ripped apart and put in wrongly? :P

The 120 MPH limiter is false, my speedo says 140 Mph certified, and it'll do every bit of 160Mph. M uncle is a cop, and that's what he clocked me at in Burley ID.

one quick question I'm in utah, does anyone know where i can get 9c1 parts for my impala? no one seems to carry them. + does anyone know if u can upgrade the throttlebody?
