98 DeVille radio problem
I replaced my factory radio with a Pioneer CD player.Everytime I start my car the radio settings are not retained.Anyone have a idea how to fix this or what the issue may be??
Also when I lock the doors, sometimes the doors will not unlock by keyfob.Whenever this happens o have to unlock the door manually and the alarm sounds when the car is started and my dashboard(mpg, travel distance, etc.)are all reset Last edited by JBGlass; 10-08-2009 at 09:20 PM. |

Re: 98 DeVille radio problem
The pioneer CD player's wiring harness should have two power wires. One is designed to hook up to a switched source.
The second wire is usually labelled 'memory' and is to be hooked up to a power source that is unswitched... that is, it's on, even when the key is turned off. Chances are, the memory wire is disconnected or is wired incorrectly. |

Re: 98 DeVille radio problem
magic rat is exactly right there is two wires for power on any CD player one is red and is the ignition wire the other is yellow and is memory, check it with a 12volt tester to make sure that you still have power when the car is turned off. this is all asuming that you have installed your radio correctly too
