Would i be better off driving this car off a cliff
I have a 96 Kia Sephia that I am using for a comuter car (60 miles one way) and it is not running worth a flip.
To start with it does not have ANY codes when i plug in the code reader. What it is doing: 1) it does not want to idle i have to put in neutral and hold down gas peddal to keep running 2) when it is idleing properly (well on its own) it has a dead miss that flucuates when it is missing. 3) some times when i give it gas to go faster it chokes and almost dies, and some times actually dies What I have done: 1) replaced Rotor, Cap, Wires and Plugs 2) cleaned out intake system with carb cleaner both running and not running 3) new air filter 4) replaced all rotor cap wires and plugs, thinking maybe one was defective. 5) also checked most sensors to make sure they are plugged in properly, and checked battery for good connections as well as main fuse box, alternator, starter and just about everything that has a plug on it. 6) checked compression and it has basically equal compression on all four cyl's if i had not already put 1200 dollars for a transmission and just done a full brake job (master cyl, calipers, pads rotors, wheel bearing, drums and shoes) and new tires on all four corners, as well as all 4 new motor mounts. if not for all of that i would just scrap the car and get a new one, the only good thing is, i only paid 400 for the car. but all together i ahve about 3000 in the beast. and i am very seriously about to just drive it off a cliff. ANY help would be very appreciated. |

Have you tried the fuel filter? Possibly fuel pump as well. If i recall there was a recall for a fuel pump problem.
