im sure its fast and all, but cmon, 205hp out of a turbo 2.4liter... that sucks. mitsubishi and dodge were getting 210hp out of a turbo 2.0 in the previous generation eclipse and talon turbos. you would think they would have made some developments in the last 8-10 years. but this car makes it look like theyre going downhill, now theyre getting less power out of a larger motor. somethings not right about that...

I am a fan of Japanese cars myself, and not too fond of American manufacturers... BUT you guys are just way too biased
The fact that Talon had 210 out of a 2.0 liter doesn't mean ANYTHING whatsoever.... The new Q45 has 340hp out of 4.5 liters, LS430 only gets 290 out of 4.3 liters [wow, Lexus is behind.. ] and guess which car has a faster acceleration. It is not just about the 3-digit HP figure, the torque plays a HUGE part in all of this, and don't forget the occurring RPMs. If the claimed acceleration of 5.9 seconds is true, then I am very confident that this new car will scare the current sub-compact manufacturers such as Honda.

well check this out, put a turbo on the gsr oh wait..... wheres the turbo neon? oh i lost it back there
i went racing sat. night and i saw a subura wrx (sorry about the spelling if its wrong) with a bo valve, boost controller, and a exhaust vs a honda s2000 wiht just an air intake. Of course the Subaru beat it b/c it is awd and also it is turbo. Just imagine if the S2000 was awd and turbo, the subura wouldnt even be nothing compared to the s2000 (i love subura's im not hating ) compare turbo cars to turbo cars and naturallyaspirated cars to naturally asprated cars please dont flame me now

If an S2000 had AWD, it wouldn't be an S2000.
But anyway, this whole thread supports the theory that horsepower sells cars, and torque accelerates them. (And we all know that acceleration wins races.) Take that as you will. SS

I'll have to admit that while I am a fan of Chrysler, this thing does seem to take some styling cues from a Subaru maybe. Or is it just me.

did you guys see the test of the thing in the new SCC? it may be rated at 215hp and 245 lb-ft of torque at the flywheel, but when they put it on a dyno, i made 223hp and 250 lb-ft of torque TO THE WHEELS! they ran a 5.8 0-60 and a 14.2@99.5 mph in it
rumor has it that the tester is a "ringer" dodge is sending around, and actually has a more aggressive computer program than the production car will have. but even so, take a production model, put an aftermarket chip in it and a good pair of slicks, and youve very possibly got a 13 second neon |

so i take back all the bad things i said about it
another rumor says that if sales are good enough, theyre considering putting the same engine in a lightweight, 2-seater, RWD platform, with possibly a 6 speed. and that will sell for under $20,000 too! damn, when did dodge become cool? |

i hope lillhondacoupe buys one of these import fighters!!
turbo 205hp wow that doesnt impress me when any domestic car company can come close to producing a 240 hp naturally aspirated engine with only 2.0liters then ill be impressed. anyways why do you even compare a gsr specs to a turbo 2.4L vs 1.8L ok joe dirt calm down and go out and put your name on the list buddy peace. |

just like when the honda guys talk about the wrx, saying "it only makes 227 hp out of a turbo 2.0, the rsx makes 200hp out of an N/A 2.0". well know what, sink another $1000 into that 200hp rsx, youre only gonna get another 20 hp MAYBE. throw $1000 into the wrx, youve got a 300hp car. Quote:
