engine transplant*help*
One of my friends is putting a type-r engine in his 98 integra ls, and he's selling the motor for 700 dollars. Would that motor fit in my 91 crx? by the way, i've decided to covert my automatic to a standard. I have more fun driving standard cars. anyway, if the ls doesn't fit then i'm doing a b16a swap.
Also, my mechanic said he'd do the swap for me, and all i need is to get the parts. Anyone know what i need to convert my auto to a standard? and what ecu and harnesses will i need(for the b16 motor). should i ask hasport? i'd appreciate any feedback.

Go for the 1.8 out of the integra. It has way more torque. But its a little pricey for a non vtec.

got some good news got some bad news,
Good news Can the engine fit... Yeah! Bad news you will need to convert your clutch to Hydrolic (pretty big job) Or buy a Cable tranny (ys1, S1, Y1) Gonna have to rewire for ODB-3 (BIG JOB) since your friend is probably keeping his wire harness. Moral of the story It will fit but it would be easier and/or cheaper to go with a B16a or B18a

i'm not going with a turbo or anything, so i figured that the vtec would be good. plus the sound of the vtec kicking in is great feeling. the ls has nice torque, but i like the powerband in the high rpms from vtec. i'm curious about one more thing. is it hard to put in the clutch pedal and the stick, or is it not as bad as people say?

well if i'm not mistaken (and correct me if i am wrong) but to put in the clutch pedal, don't you need the whole pedal assembly from a manual? i've never done an auto to manual swap so i'm just giong off of what i have read... but that would be a BITCH of a swap to do an LS into an auto 4th gen. i'd got b16 w/ cable tranny.
