b16 coupe vs b18b coupe

i have a 93 dx coupe wit a b16a
mods: i/h/e/camgears adjusted/obx racing crank pulley/skunk 2 intake manifold/skunk 2 ecu/shortshifter......

friend has 95 ex coupe wit a b18b ls motor
mods: i/h/e/no cat/crower stage 1 cams/camgears/act stage 3 clutch/12 lightened flywheel/jun vtec ecu/crower springs/retainers and skunk 2 intake manifold/b&m fuel pres reg...
DYNO TUNED AT 127.6 hp 112 tq with those mods

im just wondering what you all think would be the outcome in a 1/4 mile race from a dead stop 0 to 95 mph

i am a slightly better driver than him we both have new kuhmo tires

u shud win, most defintely, that thing is puttin out really low numbers for all that work done, when was it dynoed exactly? becaus ethose look possible stock or with only a couple mods to the LS motor. something isnt right also why does he have a Jun Vtec ECU if its not a vtec engine?
u shud win if u dont ill be disappointed as long as what uve said is true and alll correct, well as long as the dyno is correct, u shud win.

yeah, a B18 with bolt ons is already at 114 to the wheels is what ive seen then cams/gears/no cat, manifold, tuned fuel pressure and all, seems like it should be a bit higher, but actually doesnt sound too bad to me. but that vtec ECU confuses me too. why owuld he havce that, unless hes going LSVTEC soon and wanted to just get the ecu right away, but then paying for tuning before the swap makes me think that isnt the reason. but I wil have to actually give him the win in my head. I have sen LS unmodded pull a B18C1 with bolt ons and a vtec timer for the first part of the race. so wiht him haveing more mods than you, and you having less displacement than the GSR, I dont know, cuz the LS was sedan and GSR 2 door too so he had like 100+ pounds more and still pulled.

i would have to agree, those numbers do sound a little low to me for those mods. but then again ur friend has a stage 1 crower cams which doesnt really give the LS alot of pep. maybe he should take it to another shop to get dyno tuned.

but the race should be pretty close. he'll probably have u out on the holeshot, but when VTEC kicks in, u'll reel him in. i raced a 99 or 00 civic SI on the track when i only had intake and exhaust. he sounded like he had I/E and probably headers. i got the jump on him off the line, but half way down the track he started to pull on me. he only beat me by half a car lenght

of course for the first part, the B16's biggest problem is no torque, but they will pull enough to beat the ls to 95. sorry but ive seen b16's run 15.1 with jus i/h/ and high flow cat and then with new clutch and lightened flywheel run a 14.85. my freind with a a zex dry 50 shot on his LS ran a 14.7. GSR musta fucked up, but u said only pulled beginnin of race? whats that 0-40 ? or somewhere in there

we ran last nite 2 times 1st race

we both launched pretty even by end of 1st i had a fender on him.... end of 2nd gear same then in 3rd i pulled about a full length on him

same in the 2nd race!!!

well, what was the b16 in, ive seen a B16 in a 2nd gen teg with I/H/E run only mid 15's, and this kid can drive pretty good, I drove it and only got like a 15.6, his best over two trips to the track was 15.4. somethign might have been wrong the whole time hehad it thogh, cuz that last time to the track I drove it again and got like a 17 somehting because it hesitated alot in first gear, just had no power, 1k into when vtec should have already been pulling it took off like it was supposed to, and then in 3rd it did it again for a second. but ran perfect the first time therre, and the race was from a roll, Id say 30mph maybe, and the end of 3rd/beginning of 4th was where the GSR caught back up, did it twice and same result both times. but it was modded and the RS was stock(just looked up that the RS sedan weighs 50lbs less than the GSR coupe, and his actually was an RS, I had the LS. forgot about that), Im sure from a dead stop the LS might pull for a second but by no later than 2nd gear the GSR would already be a bit ahead. I dont knhow, driver counts alot though, and I dont know how the other kid drives. just race him and tell us what happens, I am curious.
