Did the dealer have what you needed? I recently bought an Infinity stereo with a 10 disc changer that does not have the din cable. The unit came out of a mitsubishi. I am planning on installing the unit in my boat but have not been able to purchase the cable at any car audio retailers. Any info would be appreciated.

OUCH. You didn't buy it did you? Go to a website selling cables and see if they have a cable like that. If not they could probably make one for you. Shouldn't cost more then $50.

Re: Din cable in a Infinity system

Are you using the factory amp as well? or are you using your own amp?
WHere are you going to get the din connectors to build the cable?
If you are not using the factory amp then something like that would work.

ANyway, correct me if i'm wrong but the Infinity uses a 5 pin din cable.

You can buy one for about $4.

GO HERE to check out the cables.

and the amp??

i have a 1991 mitsubishi montero, and just purchased a 4 disc in-dash stereo from a 2001 eclipse to replace the monty's failed old cassette system. i have no cabling -- but i do have a stock infinity amp. being an audio tech loser, i have no idea what to get to make the system work. i have the factory harness adapter to properly fit the new stereo to my 91 montero, and i have an accompanying infinity amp from a 2000 eclipse. what powers the amp? i don't know what hooks to what, blah blah. can anyone help an idiot??

Cables

well the amp needs the black din cable that comes from the Headunit. If u dont have one then I would try looking for it on the forums. It cost alot to get it from mitsu.

Re: Din cable in a Infinity system

is the din cable the only cable that connects to the amp, or does it need anything else?

Re: Din cable in a Infinity system

There should be another white rectangular connector that connects ur amp to the speakers, this maybe difficult to get if ur vehicle didnt have the infinity system originally.
