Debating buying Xterra. Opinions needed!
Hey Everybody,
I just found this site and I had a few questions. I am a college student who lives in flagstaff, AZ (that means snow) and I'm debating selling my lowered accord because its basically a snowplow up here. I've been lookin at the Xterras and they seem pretty nice but don't know alot about them. I'll only have about $10k to spend so that means i'm basically limited to a higher mileage xterra and a model year 2000 or 2001. Do you think that will be a problem? Are there any differences between 00 and 01? Next, how is gas mileage for you guys with the V6? I've seen sights that claim 21 mpg but I'm guessing thats on the high side. Thanks |

You'll have a hard time finding a 4x4 V6 for 10K. Mileage will be more in the mid teens on average.
No differences in the 00 and 01 of real note. Good luck, Brent |

Re: Debating buying Xterra. Opinions needed!
I bought mine from a dealer on traderonline.com. My '02 is a Canadian Xterra bought two years ago when the exchange rate made US dealers buying & reselling them profitable. I'm nearby Buffalo NY [Snow!] and use the 4-wd quite often. I have only two small complaints: The steering wheel doesn't tilt, it only adjusts the column up and down (I like a vertical wheel). And the center console/CD box hits my elbow in corners.
Otherwise, I like the X more every time I drive it. (I've owned a Ram Charger, a Bronco II, and a CJ-5). Only real issue was warranty - now resolved. |
