Re: Bent/broke a push rod

The forward band broke on my grand prix. The part was in the trans pan. The same forward band broke in our Transport, and in my friends Grand Prix.

I bought a 300m forged input shaft and a larger 3rd gear piston. The horse power(150+ nitrous hit) broke the trans chain prior, and it will sheer off the stock input shaft.

Guess you did not chip a piston?

Nope piston looks good.

Is the tranny something you'd fix yourself? I've never done more than remove one. Good luck either way.

Re: Bent/broke a push rod

I've got a question.

With using the Torque to yield bolts the manual says to use TTY angle gauge. Is this totally necessary or is there a recommended torque I can use in lieu of the gauge?
I have one I borrowed from a buddy but at the angle of some of these bolts it looks like it’ll be a real PITA to use.
Thx

I would use the angle gauge. Do you have the engine pulled forward? Another thing. Change your valve guide seals at this time.

Had a valve job done while I had it apart. All's good except for a P0171 Pontiac - Fuel Trim System Lean Bank 1.
