KE30 Strut Problem
I'm working on a 78 Corolla Custom KE30 2dr Sedan. I'm trying to find a replacement strut insert that will fit the tower. What I'm running into is the tower has a 1/4" smaller diameter starting about 3-4" from the bottom of the tower. This corresponds to a matching OD on the strut. So far every insert we've tried that is said to fit; doesn't. Has anyone run across this issue? Can it be overcome?
UPDATE: The strut inserts are "obsolete." Quit making them in 2005. Considering now moding the knuckles and strut towers to accept TE50 inserts. "OBSOFREEKINLETE!" What a pisser. Last edited by ClearHooter; 03-29-2013 at 12:02 AM. |
