How to program 97 Aurora keyless entry?
Hello, I have purchased two new key fobs for my 97 Aurora and I'm wondering if I can program them myself? If anyone can help I would really appreciate it.
Thanks! |

To resync the transmitters stand within 10 feet of the car and hold the LOCK AND UNLOCK buttons together for 10 seconds. This should recode the transmitters with the sysytem.

Here's an excerpt from the manual:
Resynchronization If only the instant alarm button works, the transmitter needs to be resynchronized to the receiver. Do this by pressing and holding both the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on the transmitter for about eight seconds. You must be within range of the vehicle. Once the transmitter has been resynchronized, the horn will chirp and the exterior lamps will flash once. The system should now operate properly. |

The manual just tells you how to resynchronize transmitters that have already been encoded to respond to your vehicle. In order to encode a new transmitter the chip needs to be flashed. I'm not sure how to do this outside of a dealership.
