2000 Neon Power Steering Fluid

I resently purchased some power steering fluid for my 2000 Neon at my local Chrysler dealer. They assured me that they gave me the right stuff (Mopar Power Steering Fluid + 4, part number 05166226AA). The only problem, the fluid in the car is light yellow in color, and the stuff that the Chrysler dealer sold me is red in color. This doesn't seem right to me. Does anyone know?

Re: 2000 Neon Power Steering Fluid

The dealer gave you the newer ATF+4, which is automatic transmission fluid. It can be used for the power steering as well. It is what they use now and have been in the later year models. It's perfectly safe to use!
