Sticky Gas Pedal

I'm new to this forum and I really think it's helpful! I have a pretty sticky gas pedal which acts up from time to time and I'm not real sure how to best get it lubed...any ideas?

Re: Sticky Gas Pedal

What year vehicle do you have? I had a 00 Siverado which had a sticky gas pedal. It stuck at the top. Stealer fixed it, said is was a bad design on how it went through the fire wall. They ended up putting in some sort of gromet. Look out on Alldata.com for a TSB. Might find something there.

I appreciate the idea...my pedal also sticks at the top and it seems to act up randomly...

Cool Hey Stuck UP.

Go to your favorite auto parts store and get a can of STP Throtle Body and Air Intake Cleaner. Or whatever brand tickles your fancy. Must be a pretty common problem. Spray inside TB. Wallaa.

To avoid being stuck up in the future, varnish gumming up the TB mechanism, start putting a can of your favorite brand of Fuel System Cleaner in your gas tank at every oil change. Switch to synthetic oil while you are at it. This will help keep your entire Emissions System relatively clean and problem free. Fuel Filter, EGR, PCV, 02Sensor, Cat. Conv., etc..

I am a minimalist. A little preventive maintenance goes a long way. Long live Chevrolet.
