I was going to say 5 and I consider the entire Brunei Royal Family as one even though they may own upwards of 6 F1s. The other owners on my list are Selldorff (obviously) Meissner if he really does have #051, GTR #11R and the longtail FINA car, the Japanese collector who has the F1 LM and GT (I have to assume he'd have a road car as well) and there's an unconfirmed British collector who supposedly also has 3, one of which may be the other customer GT.

Were you counting anyone else? Actually I'd love to compare notes since you seem somewhat certain of your figure.

Re: How many people worldwide own 3 or more?

sorry, i forgot about the guy in japan...although he almost deserves to be not counted since he never drives the cars. people like that should be given replica shells to put on display. what a complete waste. so that's six individuals now.

brunei family
ron denis (down to 3 now i believe)
meissner
selldorff
john s <- british guy (dunno if he has the gt, but i would guess yes)
japanese idiioto-san

ron denis' ownership is somethign i heard about from a private collector who was offered one of his cars. at the time he had four. i understand nick mason bought one. that leaves three...if my source was correct and if no more have been sold off.

*******************************
EDIT: my source (very credible) confirmed john s has the GT

I know for a fact that Ron owns at least 2 F1's (one silver, one chocolate brown) but I have not seen either of them myself. I have heard rumours that he owns at least 1 other car that has never seen the light of day and is stored in a secret location known only to him.

i don't think he does. Its mclaren's car, sure but it was shown in the Brundle DVD with the GT and LM so why would they say it was theirs? I could be wrong. Mr. B may be able to shed some light onto it.

I haven't seen the Brundle DVD yet sadly.

I sort of remember them setting up all the cars at MTC last year for the shoot. I can certainly remember XPGT and XPLM being there. What other F1's are on the DVD (apart from the Paul Stewart car)?

Re: How many people worldwide own 3 or more?

he asked what other mclaren f1s are there and you are spouting every car except mclaren f1s i thin k hes asking what other mclarne f1s besides the sliver one are there on the dvd.correct answer would be none as the only one shown is the sliver one belonging to paul stewart. paul stweart has a veyr hopped up harley motorcycle as well btw.i think it has 400 bhp.

That's still incorrect.

Stewart's F1 was the only one used in the comparison, but the special feature on the DVD where Brundle visits the new McLaren Tech Center shows #065, XP1 LM and 56XPGT.

This photo of the GT is a screenshot from that section of the DVD:

It all comes flooding back.

065 was about because it had just been swapped for XP5 at the Mayfair showroom.

Cheers Peloton
