After cleaning idle jets still spits gas drops!?

i got this jeep today that sounded like that problem with the idle jets being clogged, but the guy said he removed them and cleaned them according to the post here on this site, but when i first started it i didnt see any gas drops or anything but after about 1 hour of driveing it home it started to idle but really rough , so i looked again and sure enough it was only sputtering verry little amount of fuel out of one side and nothing out of the other , so i removed that assemblly and nothing was clogged! the little ball was there and everything looked clean but the biger brass looking jets that you see the fuel coming from seemed to be clogged when i ran a needle through them , what else would cause those jets not to be functioning properly or should that do it?

What year/engine ?

It sounds like it's a carbureted engine. I'd think there is some junk in the float bowl that is clogging the jets. You may have to give the carburetor a good cleaning (or replacement) to get rid of the junk.

Egads, it's been quite awhile since I worked on a carb. Best thing I can remember is adjust them so there is no black smoke from the tailpipe (over rich) and then lean slightly from there.
