Idle issues

I have a 94 Eclispe 1.8l, 5spd, it runs good, but sometimes when you are in gear or not the rpms vary between 1200 - 400 and then go back up. Then sometimes when you are driving and start to come to a stop and as you down shift rpms drop to 0 and it will stall. It will do this in neutral sometimes but not all. I hope you can give me an idea where to start. Thanks

Re: Idel issues

I would check the ISC/IAC motor, that does all of your idle adjusting and even when you let off the gas it provides enough air to keep running. In the Haynes/Chilton manual they show how to test the coils in the ISC/IAC, you just need an ohm meter to do so, check it and see what you get.
