Do I need a oil restrictor?
I'm upgrading to a garrett gt2871r. s13 redtop sr20det. With steel braided turbo lines. I'm gonna use the stock oil feed banjo bolt with a restrictor already in it. Should I still get a oil restrictor. Some websites say yes and some say no. Does anyone know for sure?

Re: Do I need a oil restrictor?
couldnt tell you for sure. but do you know the oil pressure you were getting with the stock turbo? might be a good idea to figure that out then use that number as a basis for how much oil your new turbo needs. plus factor in if its ball bearing or journal bearing.

Re: Do I need a oil restrictor?
not sure about the t28 either but here's a good idea, put a T in right before the oil inlet on the turbo for your pressure guage, I've done this on a couple setups now and like it a lot, this way you can tell exactly what the spinny thing is getting, and like slideways said, just figure out how much it needs adn shoot for that #
