1989 Chevrolet Celebrity 2.8 liter FI PCV Valve location
Where is the PVC valve located on a 1989 Chevrolet Celebrity with a 2.8 liter FI engine?
According to one manual "The valve is located in a rubber grommet in the valve cover, connected to the air cleaner housing by a large diameter rubber hose." The only hose coming out of a valve cover grommet is a black, hollow, hard plastic hose that is attached to the air intake. The elbow connectors tap into rubber grommets but are hollow connectors. This is how it was from the factory. I have been changing PCV valves in my cars for over 30 years and have seen them located in the valve cover and intake manifold. I have searched high and low and cannot located the PCV valve on this engine. HELP! This is driving me crazy! Thanks! |

Re: 1989 Chevrolet Celebrity 2.8 liter FI PCV Valve location
I ended up finding my answer at:
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Where_is_t...port_Celebrity What's wrong with you guys? I thought someone on here would know the answer. Here is what I found- 1989 Chevrolet Celebrity-PVC You can't see it. It is located on the valve cover that is closest to the firewall. The intake is in the way. You have to feel for it. An angled mirror helps. Feel around about in the middle. You should be able to feel the hose. The valve is hard to pull out because the hose is cut to length. There's no slack to play with, and not much space to work in. The vacuum diagram shows the same location. |

There's not a lot of traffic in the Celebrity forums any longer, so that's why no one answered your question.
