Re: AF Group Build: A Tribute To The 60 Red Years

anyone considering doing this bad boy?

I'd love to try but my meager skills could never do that in the time frame of the contest. Would be cool to see one though, I bet a resin caster will have one eventually.

Oh yeah since there is only one Pininfarina Mythos on the list I'm going to add one more to it, and do a basic(read nowhere near as cool as MPWR's Mythos) build on the kit i've got stashed away.

Was just looking at the build list trying to decide what I want to do....man...if half that list gets finished it's gonna be a helluva show.

I got chills.

Not really that chills Veyron~ Some one said we can only achieve 20~25% of the list. Well I'm actually more affirmative, we have a lot of great modelers, it's AF, I thought we can do a great tribute. There's still much time left, let's try.

Re: AF Group Build: A Tribute To The 60 Red Years

well I got started last night on my 360 Challenge Stradale, I cut off the front bumper of the tamiya kit, and cut the side skirts out after they have been glued to the body for a few years..lol. I got out my Mythos kit and looked it over(everything inside is still in plastic bags), and my Daytona is still being planned out with the assembly I did to the motor being taken apart for a custom approach to the induction system and valve covers(think red crinkle finish and exposed webers). I will try to get these done by the end of this build, but having a 3-1/2 month old child takes some of that time away(which I love playing with my kid..so). I'll get some pics soon and get the wip threads up and running. I'm also still considering buying another Ferrari kit, but I can't decide which it will be, I'd like to buy both an Enzo and an Fxx and build the Fxx body on the street legal Enzo chassis. Oh well, i'm looking forward to all of these builds guys!!

Re: AF Group Build: A Tribute To The 60 Red Years

I just got back from college and found my Superamerica and 599 GTB waiting for me, so I've begun on both of those. Consider me officially entered.

WIP is in my signature

Re: AF Group Build: A Tribute To The 60 Red Years

Hello italian red fans !

I have a problem with my project...
I took a look at the Revell kit and started some measurements, imagine some process and results...
To build my limousine, I would have to cut straight in the body, the doors as the roof, reshape some of these parts, and so denature the model and the car... That was not my idea and I don't think it would really enter the spirit of the contest.
So I'm sorry but I'm giving up with the idea of building a 612 limousine.

As I already have the kit I will simply build the most beautifull and original 612 I can, probably waiting to find another Ferrari build to enter the contest.
(I'm still hunting the PI Magnum revell kit...! )

Sorry for this desistance (first one ?) but I prefer keeping reasonable than trying something I wouldn't lead to an (positive) end.

Re: AF Group Build: A Tribute To The 60 Red Years

Well, my build subject has arrived! Yes, after 45 days waiting for it. Anyway, what a joy!
Also I post this to show off my banner, sorry auw12 for not asking I felt inspired today.
So, I'm officially in the show. Will start as soon as I can.

We need more F1 cars in that list.

Oh Phil I'm sorry to hear that you're withdrawing from this. Hope you can pick up something else some when.

Hi Rodrigo, your banner is cool! Great work on this! Now let's look forward to your WIP.

I'm really sorry, too.
Just for all the work you're doing for this contest, I feel really confused.

I've just thought to another way to build something close to a limousine using the kit lines... Don't know if it would work better than my first idea.

Nevertheless, I'm at the moment withdrawing from the limousine but not from the contest !

I've starting the 612 yesterday, by the engine... That wouldn't change anything whatever is the project finally chosen.

Please consider I'm in with a simple 612 scaglietti for the moment.
And maybe, by working on it, the right idea will come !
