Best SPL subs?

I'm wanting to add 2 more 12s to my car *taking place of back seat* As you can see i want SPL *wanting loudest car in town* I'm thinking either 2 SE 12's or maybe 1 XXX 15 *maybe 2 XXX 12s* with another ED Nine 1 powering them. THat will put the system at the my 2 12 SPls plus ^^*other suggestion welcome** Saving up for awhile after i get job plus b-day coming. So which do u think would be better? Or u think differnt sub?? either 2 12s or 1 15.

Re: Best SPL subs?

Can you fit 2 15's? If so I'd do 2 SX 15's and 2 nine.1's SX>xxx for SPL

Re: Best SPL subs?

126dB can be hit by pansy waste walmart woofers in a great set up. 126 is about the level of peaks in my home theatre. i have the SPL meter you speak of and for 2 SX's of any size powerd by Nine.1's will hit above 126 easy in any enclosure.
The other SPl meter i have experence with is called the X-Meter Boomstick. the one i have used is the Boomstick160 which reads SPL untill 160dB. it also cost $1100. good SPL meters cost a ton of money. if you really want to find out how loud you are hitting accuratley just enter you car in an SPL competition. do a few burps and be done with it. though i doubt you will hit much above mid 140's unless you go for a pure SPL set up. which will offer no low end or SQ at all (if you could even fit an SPL enclsorue in that z28).

Re: Best SPL subs?

1 15> 2 12's for price reasons. 1 12's will be slightly louder with twice the power but not much.

Re: Best SPL subs?

Dude i live in rural area of KY i highly doubt it. The nearest dino is 3hrs away i know that but i'll check so u think a 15 SE will do the trick with a ed nine pushing it.

Re: Best SPL subs?

NO, a 15 "SX!", not SE. SE is more sound quality than SX. In SPL, SX>XXX>SE

Just call them, they usually answer. But make sure you check the sub when it gets there. I bought a 15" .se from them, and when I took it to get it installed the installer pointed out that it was "frozen", now I have to go through the hassle of sending it back and getting a new one.

When I called reaudio he actually admitted that 20% of the subs usually have something damaged through shipping. I told him maybe they should reconsider the way they packaged (it really was pretty shoddy, just one thing of styrophome covering the magnet, and the rest shaking around in a big box). He just shrugged me off.
