06 Ram 2500 - should I be worried?
Hello, I am new here and posting all my vehicle issues for some advice!
This truck is my BABY and I need her to last me a LOOOOONG time. (Plus I still owe on her, story of our lives.) I use it to haul my gooseneck horse trailer on occasion, and drive it about once a week to move a hay bale or get feed. Sometimes when first starting her up and putting her into reverse, she takes a second for it to kick in. It never jerks into reverse, but kinda "slides" into it. I have actually noticed this issue more in the warmer months if that makes a difference. Also, and I suppose it is a side issue, the air conditioner/heater blower sometimes decides to not work. I will turn it on and nothing. If I leave it in the "on" position and go over a bump, sometimes it will kick in and start. No issues with it heating or blowing cold once it kicks in. I also noticed that the "backlight" on it looks funny......it kinda fades out from left to right (when my headlights are on at night.) Could this just be a switch going bad or something? She has about 132,000 miles on her and I have had the rear differential serivced. All the regular oil changes, etc. I got her from a Toyota dealer in 2011 at around 70K miles. I have never done anything with the transmission, because I am scared to touch it! Don't know if the dealership serviced it or not, but it was one of those "5 star guarenteed" or whatever they call it vehicles. Thanks in advance for any ideas and advice! |

No clue about your tranny. Heater/Air, sounds like ignition switch(not the key part)

OK! I never would have guessed! I will fiddle with the ignition next time I mess with her. Thank you!
