91 Integra w/b16 vs. 69 Bug with 1835.
What do you guys think will win?The Teg has a b16a and was supposedly a Rsi,it has a full 2 1/4 exhaust and an intakeand a chip.
The Bug has an 1835 with Fully ported heads 48 Webers a Engle 110 or 120 cam and a pro-street trans with a taller 4th gear.My money is on the bug but my friend with the teg thinks he is going to waste the bug on an 1/8th mile track or even from stoplight to stoplight. |

Re: 91 Integra w/b16 vs. 69 Bug with 1835.
Thats kinda what I figured. The kid with the teg thinks he can beat anything on the road.Eventhough I told his teg is one of the slowest Acuras he thinks he can anything. The guy with the bug had his engine just opened up to an 1835 with everything stock and could keep up with most Civics with a Fart Can and intake, until Fourth gear.

Re: 91 Integra w/b16 vs. 69 Bug with 1835.
well if it is a bug wiht everything stock and just 1835 slugs, I will go for the teg. my friend had a 91 with intake and exhaust and it was pretty quick up to 50-60, but he said he had a GSR tranny, which he did make up 2/3's of his mods at least though so I dont know if that was true, but if Im right and it wasnt then Ill say the teg will win. but if it was true it explains why his was quick cuz it did seem to not get as much speed out of each gear.
my neighbor just built a bug though with a new clearanced case with a stroker crank and some bigger pistons and a mild cam, dual webers and some others. it ends up at about a 1900+ with a 10:1 cr. I cant wait til he gets the car done.

Re: 91 Integra w/b16 vs. 69 Bug with 1835.
His car is built to handle this and so is his engine I was saying that before he built his engine with just 1835 p&c he could keep up with most civics around here. The race should be soon!

Re: 91 Integra w/b16 vs. 69 Bug with 1835.
Im officially retarded, I dont know how I did this but I kept on thinking 90-91 B18A, now that I finally comprehend he has a B16 and the bug can just "keep up" with *most* civics the teg will own him.

Re: 91 Integra w/b16 vs. 69 Bug with 1835.
The bug could keep up with most civics when all it had was bigger pistons and a bigger carb and was otherwise stock. Now it has ported&polished heads dual 48 carbs,a different cam, A pro-street trans. The kid with the Teg said that it was the original engine forthat car so I'm going to assume B16.He said it was V-tech with the basic mods.

Re: 91 Integra w/b16 vs. 69 Bug with 1835.
But then you gotta remember this is an 1/8th mile race,Which is what the Teg wanted to do but the bug is set-up specifically for the 1/8th

Re: 91 Integra w/b16 vs. 69 Bug with 1835.
Built Bug engines make monster torque on the low end - and I think Bug's weigh something like 1700 lbs. Also, the Bug's engine sits right above the rear tires, so those things can launch like a mother*(&#.
A built b16 might catch him in a 1/4 mile, but I think the Bug will win the 1/8. |

Re: 91 Integra w/b16 vs. 69 Bug with 1835.
well, a integra never came with a B16 from the factory over into this country (US) so if it is stock and is a 91 it is NOT VTEC, and if it is stock and is VTEC its a 92-93 GSR, which is gonna run 15 flat with a good driver, good condition car. with all that crap I will think the bug will most likely take him. but the teg will go flying by towards the end of the quarter and speed spast 80.
now though with a taller 4th gear hope hes got a lot of power cuz already 4th was way too much for a bug to pull. Ive had a couple bugs before and although it was stock, on a down hill 4th still didnt even pull and fastest I got it was 91 on downhill. and about the bug launching, sure the engine/tranny above the whels help, but its the same deal in the civic, eng/trans over the drive wheels. and a bug engine tranny is ALOT lighter than a B series engine/trans, so hes really only got the benefit of having RWD over FWD for the launch. and it depends on who builds it /how they build it where it makes its most power, you could build one that revs and builds lots of HP but doesnt have a ton of torque down low.

Re: 91 Integra w/b16 vs. 69 Bug with 1835.
well the VTEC engine is DOHC as well, no B series SOHC was ever made. unless its real old in foriegn country ive never heard of. and if he gets that H22 in Im going to have to give the win to the teg in any department. light to light, 1/8th, 1/4, from a roll, around the track,......

Yea,even though I'm a VW guy, I know that if he gets an h22 it'll be no competition.
