V-Tech malfunction?
I have a 2002 CR-V with 45K mi. that is well cared for. A few months back out of nowhere the check engine light comes on and I notice the vehicle losing power when I gave it more than a little gas. I had the mechanic run a diagnostic and the computer code said it has to do with the v-tech system. Anyway, the problem went away as suddenly as it came and the car has ran fine without a hitch since yesterday when it repeated. The engine loses power right at 3000 RPM. Isn't that when the v-tech kicks in? Has anyone ever heard of this?

Re: V-Tech malfunction?
FInd out the code. Many ECU codes will also keep the -->>"vtec"<<-- system from working.

Re: V-Tech malfunction?
May be due to low oil level. The VTEC system on your vehicle is very sensitive with regards to the oil level. Check that first before spending money for diagnosis.
