Need help with paint removal from farbic on a chair..
First, My parents are on vacation, so they don't know, yet...
TOday i was happily painting me 911 GT2 with Gloss Black (x-1) all went very well.. looks really shiny so far.. after that i thought hey it shines so lets put some on the cover of my S2000. I grabbed the closed paint jar and got the lid off. Offcourse after that it slipped out of my hands and hit the table (covered in plastic..) then it bounched up side down between my legs... (yes pants are black, before they were black too..) but the problem was that between my legs was some uncovered piece of chair which became nice Gloss Black.. The floor was also plastic so that was cleaned very easy.. Now the problem is the chair. tried to get it off, used toiletpaper which absorbed pretty much. Then some clearing oil, which didn't help. After that I thought of using Tamiya Thinner, helped alot.. but not enough. So now the question, how do I get the rest of the paint out of the chair.. (wood is still clean, it is "just" the fabric). If nothing else helps, I live until wednesday when my parents get back.. and I got the feeling that they won't really like it.. So please help me!! If nothing helps.. you guys at least had some fun.. and I will stop living after wednesday... |

Oxyclean, powered by the air you breathe :flash:
First attack it with soap and water, then take a trip to the supermarket and see what spot removers they have You are lucky it's acrylic and not enamel or lacquer...I spilled acrylic chrome silver onto a dinner mat once, I immediately washed as much as I could off and put the rest in the washer...came out like new |

is it possible to take the cloth off the seat of the chair....
like when you re-do a chair you take the staples out of the chair bottom and take the cloth off ... is that possible???? and just wash the cloth |

That would be possible.. but there are A LOT of staples..
Couldn't hurt getting them of.. if the paint doesn't come off, it needs to get removed anyway. great idea.. thnx |
