94 3.4 v-6 egr valve removal

ok guys, just got a 94 with a 3.4 v-6 about two weeks ago.
the first problem i had was that when i test drove it evrything was fine, a couple days later, it shut off after running real rough as i pulled into the driveway. i think it may be the egr valve after reading these forums.

is there a way to remove it and block it without it throwing a ses light?
by the way, it was also bad low on power, took all day to get to 60 mph, so i cut off the cat and welded in a straight pipe, helped alot. but still have the rough idle problem especially after warm up/

anybody? anybody? bueller?

thanks guys

well, that car has a computer on it, run it for codes, and the car will tell you whats wrong with it.

if you are going to fix it, do it right, why guess at what you think it is and cause more problems? it might have nothing to do with the EGR. if you have the codes, it makes no sense not to run them.

You should find out what codes its throwing off for one thing i don't think the EGR valve will make it die that is the problem on my car and it just makes it run rough. The EGR valve is part of the emissions, it costs about 170 dollars

the car dying after running rough could be a couple things. do as the guru suggests and check for codes...
