Evo 0-60 and 1/4 mile questions

The J-spec Evo has 276hp and does 0-60 in approx 4.7 seconds and the 1/4 mile somewhere in the 13's (anyone know exactly?).

If we get the car with lets say 250hp...what do you think the 0-60 and 1/4 mile will be then?? I am thinking 0-60 in 5.x, and 1/4 mile somewhere in the low 14's but that is about as fast as the WRX...wtf!?

P.S. I have seen 0-60 and 1/4 mile times on a lot of cars from all different magazines. Motor Trend always seems to have the best drivers because they always squeeze the lowest times out of the cars tested.

The EVO can't do 11's off the stock equipment it runs on. Mistu tests its EVO's on high octane race fuel, and release its figures after the tests.

You'd do 11's with some after part mod's. the 0-60 figure is more like 5.x not 4.x, and the 1/4 mile is approximately 13.7.

EVO VI TME: 0-100km/h in AUS is 5.47 if i remember correctly. Thats still quite fast.

Subaru's times are so fabricated, This is the WRX we are talking about, the WRX is even slower, its 0-60 is 6.x, and its 1/4 mile is 14.x

hope this clears some confusion up

As far as this goes.....I've heard the jspec runs 0-60 4.7 12.xx 1/4 miles......and for the love of god dont listen to motor trend .....they are so freaking biased and crazy....on more than one occasion have i seen them give slanted times (for better or worse) to certain companys.....

Read it a little better though and it says the VII was tested in less than ideal conditions...I'm thinking it was raining or something...I'll dig it up and see. They did say they would be pretty close (VI and VII) if tested at same time. Also, I think the #'s you posted from SCC for the VII would be similar #'s the U.S. spec VII would post.

Not sure...

I thought we posted the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times.
0-60 in 4.3 and the Quarter in the 11's or 12's. I know it's lower than the 4.7.
Anyways, just can't wait till it gets here.

Your right about the conditions...The EvoII is MUCH closer to the six. I Read it again. Search Kazaa for Top Gear and watch the Evo review by Tiff Nedell. Good Stuff. pretty darn good driver too

Are you all stupid? the magazines are rigged. They fabricate the speeds.

The EVO VI's 0-60 is around 5.5.. not, 4.3 lol jesus, ask the OWNERS of the cars, not some shitty magazine.

1/4 Mile for the Evo VI is in the low 13's, approx 13.5/6 maybe 13 on a good day.

the evo 7 maybe be a bit faster, so they say.

I'm an owner. And I do believe you can dip below 5 on a stock only if:
a) its cool and/or at night; (temperature makes a huge huge difference as I find out-especially on a high-strung turbo)
b) you have shitloads of money to do a 8000RPM standing start and burn your clutch (easily destroyed within 10,000KMs)
c) able to withstand the gigantic g-force of the standing start and still manage to keep your hands on the steering wheel straight and your pedal to the metal without lift-off;
d) you remembered to switch on the intercooler spray.

you know i live about 200 miles away from where sport compact car tested this thing. just some info about the test and the area, the elevation was over a mile above sea level. and we all know that can make your times as much as a second or more higher than they really are. another thing the air was around 90 degrees or so. and the track they tested it on was filled with small hills and some rocks. they never clean the shit off the track, even though they are suposed to be required to do it. so you gotta shave some time off of that figure. by the way i don't remember if the mag said this but it was tested in august i think near denver colorado. that should say something.

Cool

I have heard steady 4.5 sec on the 0-60 for the Jspec EVO VII. In fact the only other reliable timing I have heard on the stock car is on the Warrender site where the test done yielded a 4.7sec 0-60. They also have a modded one that does it in 4sec as well.
Now the US spec EVO might do a 5.5sec is my guess based on the detuning. The US suby does 5.7sec 0-60 Consistently on several tests R&T, SCC etc.

magazine times are totally rigged. when you read it look for the base price then look for 'price as tested'.

sport compact tested the 98 supra back in the day, they said it was stock times but the tested price was like 7gs higher than the base.

they toy around with the engines before they test.

Stock doesn't mean "base model" Stock means no mods.
The magazines don't tinker with the mechanics of the car no matter what you think. They will at the most mess with things like tire pressures. It is VERY common to run better times than what the magazines run.
