03 grand am gt fuel line remocal from engine?

my friend has a 03 grand am gt and he put a hole in his transmission and now they are trying to pull the engine cause it would be easier to put the transmission in. they need to get the gas line part disconnected. it is under neeth by the fuse pannel by the master brake cylinder. how do you disconnect these connections?

Re: 03 grand am gt fuel line remocal from engine?

They are compression type fittings, need a tool to remove those. A real PITA to get lose.

I'd just loosen the lines(on the drivers side end of the block) at the fuel rails.

Also IMO, it is a lot more work pulling both the motor and trans.
They only thing hard to disconnect is the trans to engine bracket, and the torq converter bolts.

hope that helps

ps- here is a pic that might help with the fuel line disconect.
