fan speeds?

on my sisters car the number 1 & 2 speeds for the fan controls dont work so how do i replace these and wut would i search for on autozone.com? she has an '00 Grand AM GT v6

Re: fan speeds?

its the blower resister. They run about $20-25.

Its located on the passenger side, under the dash from the floor.
Need to remove the kick panel to get to it. Thiers 3-4 screws holding on the panel.

Best to remove the blower motor, 3 bolts hold in blower.
Resister is behind the blower, unplug wire harness, 2 screws(5.5mm i think)holding it on. Kinda tricky getting to them, and no room at all.

1/4 " drive ratchet w/3" extension, socket and a swivle works realy well.
All the bolts/screws are the same 5.5mm.

This is a stand on your head job
