Unhappy 1989 Acclaim..."clunk"????

The last time i drove my Acclaim i heard a "clunk" coming from the rear. It sounded like something was in the trunk rolling around, but it wasn't. I was driving on smooth pavement.

The next day my friend drove it and said it made a "squealling" noise when she applied the brakes. Now, i just had the rear brakes and wheel bearings replaced last September. So i just can't believe it would be the brakes. Besides, they seem to work just fine!

I feel it could be the CV joints. But then again...i don't know alot about cars. Only to hand the money over to the garage.

Any ideas will be appreciated.
