Depends on it's service records and condition. If the owner has all the service records and the car is premo. compression great, upholstry excellant, in other words a 8+ car then it's a good buy. You can get them cheaper but then your taking a chance on a piece of shit. Personally I'd rather pay extra to have a good car, than be cheap and get crap.
The bottom line is what your welling to pay for what you want. |

Re: 94 300zx
After all was said and done, if you total up the value of the work I had done and the trade in value they gave me on my old ZX2 then my Z cost me around 9500! But Other than a camber issue and a broken fan shroud....someone leaned on it and the fan eat through the shroud, looks kinda cool though, I got a good deal, on a 100K mile 95, in a 95 only color loaded. But for what I paid I could have got a TT with about the same milage and a few years older, but with god knows what done to it.

Re: 94 300zx
make sure the timing belt has been changed recently... if not you'll need to get that done or do it yourself... probably run at least 500 if you get a shop to do it. the vg30de is a sturdy engine and if it's well taken care of it will last you up to or past 200k miles... just make sure to change her oil and give her what she wants.

anyways, like delerious said, timing belt needs to be replaced every 60k miles but nissan says every 100k miles for the N/A but most people change it at 60k miles just to be safe. otherwise there are not any common problems with that year except for warped rotors...im pretty sure that was a common Z32 problem.
