M.S vs T.S

Ok heres the deal...

Michael Schumacher Vs Takuma Sato who do u think has the most driving potential. I think Mike is at the top of his game and hes not goin anymore. Takuma on other hand is like a little fireball hes just so fast when he really gets into his "mood/setting/spot" (what ever u want you call it) When I witnessed the U.S Gp in indy this year I saw both Mike an takuma put there best. Mike finishing 1st Takuma finishing 3rd when I saw that race I was truly convinced Takuma definetly has potential to be as good or better the Mike. Takuma's young an eager so you have to give him the benfit that he will calm down an improve in time. Personally I like his flare compared to the rest of the drivers. Ok so lets hear your opinions....

I am a ferrari fan if your wondering...

Btw Sato set the fastest lap in indy

F1 standings for this year ~ http://www.formula1.com/archive/driver/2004.html

Re: M.S vs T.S

Ya Sato is very fast. He will easily be in the top 5 at the end of '05...I think..lol But he has a lot of potential and I'm sure he has learned a lot from last year. But as far as being the next Michael Schumacher.....I'm not really sure there is going to be one for awhile. There are many good talents like Sato, Alonso, and Kimi, but they all just seem to not quite have it....I think MS will definately get a run from those guys for the Championship in '05. Should be exciting.

Re: M.S vs T.S

there have been alot of drivers like Sato that have come through formula 1. He's a very fast driver, but he's not elite because he makes too many mistakes. I don't see this improving with experience either, alot of analysts will say that consistency will improve with age, but from what I've seen it rarely does. You also have to realize that the BAR was by far the second best car in F1 last year, the only car that was close was the McLaren they used at the end of the year, so any qualified driver would have looked like a contender in that car.

I know that my uncle works for B.A.R. I get free stuff from them an half the cars in F1 are previous models from leading teams. Didn't toyota use an 03 Ferrari an so did jordan as well.

I'd have to disagree with you about BAR being "by far" the second best car. Renault wass right there with BAR the whole season...actually they were AHEAD of BAR almost the whole season including managing a win at Manaco. And if Fernando hadn't of had a few unfortunate incidents I think Renault would have come out ahead of BAR. Admitedly though, BAR gained quite a bit of speed toward the end of the season.

Re: M.S vs T.S

Damn. I was just going to communicate with just smilies from now on too.

Lets just say no, Jordan and Toyota did not use 03 Ferraris. Sauber may have come close but that sort of thing is not allowed.

As for Sato, I would rate him behind Button and as much as I believe Schumacher to be overrated he is not in the same ballpark. I'd go so far as to say the main reason Sato is in F1 is because of his nationality.

Re: Re: M.S vs T.S

Not likely because of his nationality...

When I saw him race at indy he was keep pace if not surpacing schumi when he gains his complete focus he will be one of the best.

Re: M.S vs T.S

If Takuma signs to drive, and is successful with, a non Honda powered car then you may have a case to argue.
Until then he is just another Nakajima or Nakano.

I totally agree, especially the fact that Alonso had a couple of crashes that probably cost him major points. I was also at Indy, and he was driving much better than Sato until his tire blew out. I think Sato may be slightly over-rated. I would definitely pick Alonso over Sato any day.

Re: M.S vs T.S

I think its unfair to liken Takuma Sato to Nakajima or Shinji Nakano, he's more like a young Ukyo Katayama, a good driver, but not elite. Nakajima and Nakano were downright awful, Nakano isn't even a competitor in ChampCar.

Re: M.S vs T.S

I agree Dr. Disque, I expect Sato will be far more successful than Katayama, given the more competitive machinery he has at his disposal. The reference to Nakajima and Nakano was because both were Honda protégés, who scored their drives over other more suitable candidates because of their nationality.

No one will be a match for Michael as long as he drives Formula 1.
