Went to change my son's 1994 Mazda 626 2.5L fuel filter today. Lots of stuff in the way, but when I got to the fuel line on top of the filter, couldn't budge it. Thought I was going to bust it off the old filter rather than slowly work it off. Had the clamp all the way slid up to, so it wasn't the clamp binding it up. Just wondering if anybody knows a trick to get old, sticky rubber line to come off the fuel filter without damaging it.
Also, after removing the bracket that holds the filter in place, can I get to the bottom of the filter without too much problem to get the inlet gas line off? This thing is buried in the engine compartment and is harder than *&$# to get out of there. Thanks for any tips, I appreciate it.
